Home Economics - Friands.

Friands.

On Friday my team and I made friands! They were so good! I really enjoyed them, I do wish they were a little bit bigger though! The blueberry in the middle of it gave it that bit of sweetness and it was the perfect add on!

Ingredients!

Team notes!

I don't think my team worked very well on Friday..
They are not splitting the workload fairly and English is also not there first language and they were talking to each other (not in English) and looking at me and kept talking, making me feel like they are talking about me, they also left the class after they took their food, and left me to do the other work, washing up and wiping the table etc. That is not aloud, we are meant to stay in the room as a group until all the work is done. I hope that as a team we will work stuff out and work well again.

Here are some pictures!

The Siege of Kaiapohia.

In the early 1670s, Ngai Tahu Maori migrated to the South Island and the North Canterbury area from the North Island, in search of food and land. They fought and defeated the Ngati Mamoe who had been living here.

The Pa was built about 1700 by Tu Rakautahi, the chief. It was built on a peninsula between Woodend and Waikuku. The surrounding environment made it easily secure. The neck of the land to the peninsula was very narrow and surrounded by a deep ditch. A palisade defence was set up stopping any attacks from the lagoon side. The other possible approaches for attack were secured by gates. One of the gates facing the lagoon and two opening up to the neck of the lagoon. There was also a forest near the pa. The pa is no longer standing (no buildings) But you can still go and see the original site.

Tuahiwi for more than 150 years has enjoyed that distinction of the home of Ngāi Tahu. The Kaiapoi Pā site still holds sacred reverence as the fallen homeland.

The word pā can refer to any Māori village or defensive settlement, but often refers to hillforts, fortified settlements with palisades and defensive terraces, and also to fortified villages.

Home Economics- Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins.

 Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins.

On Friday my team and I made banana chocolate chip muffins!
They were so moist and delicious! I loved them so much! So many muffins lack flavor but these ones were perfect!

Team Notes:
My team and I worked really well together! We could've worked a little bit faster but that can be fixed!

Here are some pictures I took!

Home Economics - Spiced Apple Muffins.

 Spiced Apple Muffins.

On Friday my team and I made spiced apple muffins! They were cooked perfectly, but I wasn't the biggest fan of them.. I didn't really like the apple in them and they kind of lacked a bit of flavour.

Recipe.

Team Notes:

I believe me and my team worked really well!

We got our cooking done really quickly and was one of the first groups to get it into the oven!

Here are some pictures I took.

Athletics Blog.

 Athletics.

Some of the events that I learnt in P.E:
Shot Put,
Discus,
Long Jump,
High Jump,

A helpful tip I found when I was doing the events at athletics was:

For sprints just keep looking ahead because if you look to the side it will slow you down.

For high jump, kick your legs up high and run fast to get your momentum up.

For shot put, keep moving backwards and forwards to get the shot put further.

For discus, you need to fling it far, and just put your all into throwing it.

For long jump, get a good run up and then leap as far as you can, remember don't go over the line, but get close to it.

I didn't bring my P.E gear every lesson as, I was injured and couldn't do P.E.

I did not participate in every lesson as I was injured.

Home Economics - Pizza Swirls.

Pizza Swirls.

Today (Friday) in Home Economics myself and my team made Pizza Swirls! They were  so delicious! All of the gooey stringy melted cheese filling up your mouth as you take a bite, all the other flavours mixed together with the cheese was absolutely divine! The Pizza Swirls  have a slight crunch but a perfect one. The golden outside made them look even yummier! I am so glad that I have a photo of the recipe that tells me how to make this extraordinary creation! I can't wait to make these this weekend!

Team Notes:
Overall I think my team worked really well together apart from
splitting the workload, some of my team members did most of the cooking and didn’t let anyone else really do any of the work. I believe that if we discuss this issue then it can be resolved. I believe me and my team took the right safety and hygiene precautions.
