Dirty Water.
The aim of this experiment, is to be able to dilute dirty water to be able to get it to the point were it is drinkable.
Method -
Make the dirty water.
use a 250ml beaker and then get 200mls of water.
Add 2 spoonfuls of dirt.
Add 10mls of oil.
Add a spoonful of pebbles.
Stir it for 2 minutes.
Label a piece of paper to keep the beaker on.
Take a photo of the dirty water.
Now we stir the water for a minute,
measure 100mls of the dirty water and poor it into another beaker.
Add 100mls of clean water into the dirty water and poor the other dirty water out.
And then repeat again.
And now we take a picture of the diluted dirty water.
After that we out together this thing together this thing that holds the funnels which we put the filters in for us to pour the diluted dirty water into so that it filters it and we will do that a few times to hopeful help get it to the point were we can drink it.
Here are some pictures of the diluted dirty water, the clean water that got filtered, and the filtering system.
Solute = The dirt in this product.
Solution = Anything that has had something that has been dissolved in it.
Dissolved = when the solid disappears.
Diluted = When the solution is watered down lots.
Concentrated = When there is lots of solid present.
Filtrate = The product after it has been filtered - The clean water.
In my opinion it worked very well. The water was completly clear when we filtered it! I wouldn't change anything.. Actually I might change my team, hahaha
